Troy Miller, Lead Elder/Pastor
Troy grew up in rural Ohio. He remembers clearly sensing his need for God at age six when he asked his parents to help him accept Jesus. He had a powerful meeting with God at around 12 years of age while attending a Christian summer camp where he more fully dedicated himself to God. At 16 he joined the worship team and later became one of the worship leaders. He attended Rosedale Bible College for a year after high school before attending university. He met his wife Rachel when she left her Spring Grove home to attend the same Bible college and then Cedarville University several years later.
After college Troy and Rachel moved to York where they served as volunteer youth leaders and Troy was one of the worship leaders at Rachel’s home church. In 2004 they moved to Afghanistan and lived there until 2008, working to introduce Afghans to Jesus through community development, medical work, and business. Grant, their oldest son, spent his first two years of life there.
After coming home, they attended Rachel’s home church until 2013 when they began attending Cityview. Life is full with five children; Grant, Emily, Ross, Kyle, and Lane. As a family they like big bonfires, banging on instruments to any music with a beat, playing with their puppy “Charlie” and guinea pigs “Tad” and “Lilly,” and eating ice cream.
