Hello Cityview family,
As we find ourselves in this difficult season as a country and as individuals, it is especially important to stay connected.
This Sunday will be our Second Cityview Sunday Cyber Service. Our tech team has bravely fought and conquered the technical issues experienced last week and were poised to livestream for this next week. However, due to the health risks involved followed by the stay-at-home order given by Governor Wolf, we are doing this week's service differently.
At 9:30 Sunday morning we will be posting several videos on the Cityview Facebook Page Please know that you do not need to have a Facebook account to access this. It is a public website open to anyone on the internet. Our worship time will be links to several songs in lieu of our worship team coming together to lead us. Gary Mummert has recorded a message for us from home.
More than ever, let's walk together through this season. Call someone who is more at risk than you to see if they need anything. It's a blessing to hear of this taking place in the body. When we are isolated physically, we need to be intentional to communicate with each other through phones and computers. We are blessed to have alternatives to walking alone. Let's make use of them.
May God's peace, safety, provision, and patience be each of ours through the Holy Spirit!
Troy, for the elders.
Children are very important to Cityview Church. We are committed to becoming the kind of community described in the New Testament — a people of authentic relationships, heart-felt worship, and relevant teaching, including for our children. Our program aims to connect our children with Jesus and His mission. It is our desire to create a fun and engaging environment where they can learn about the greatness of Christ and the wonders of God’s love.
In our nursery area, newborns and infants love the bright colors and age-appropriate toys. Parents love the fact that their child will be loved and cared for in a safe, clean environment.
Through Bible stories, Preschoolers will learn amazing truths about God, presented in a way to lead them to love and trust Him. The lessons utilize fun activities like singing, dancing, re-enacting the Bible story, crafts, and games to reinforce those truths.
Memorable Bible teaching, games and activities keep kids involved from the moment they step into class. After Bible teaching time, the class is divided into smaller groups for more age-appropriate discussions, activities, and prayer. This age group stays with their parents for the time of worship so that families can worship together. An announcement will be made when it is time to take your children to their classes.
This bridge class just prior to youth group travels through Route 66, a 2-year Bible Survey, in which they learn about major themes and characters from all 66 Books of the Bible. This class focuses on engaging group discussions, thoughtful responses to biblical themes, and prayer for missions. This age group also stays with their parents for the worship portion of the service so that families can worship together. An announcement will be made when it is time for them to head to their class.
All our teachers and helpers love and care for children. Each teacher is committed to providing the best environment for your child to learn and grow in God. All our teachers and helpers have extensive background checks on file and are fully involved in the life of Cityview Church.
For our children’s safety, Cityview uses a check-in/check-out system that helps identify the children with their authorized guardian(s). As you drop your child off at their appropriate classroom, you will receive a security card with a unique number in which to ensure your child is safely checked out after the morning service.
